CAMCO Malawi participate in 17th National Agriculture Fair in Blantyre, Malawi

On 12th November to 14th November 2021 CAMCO Malawi participated in an Agricultural Fair that was opened by the State President HE DR Lazarus Chakwera. While there CAMCO had a chance to join a panel discussion where CAMCO was represented by Marketing Manager Mr. Yang Minghui and HR and Administration Supervisor Mr. Dalitso Gadi.

The President speech mainly dwelled on how to improve agriculture in COVID-19 times. He said there was a need to transform and mechanize farming; moving from using hoes to using tractors and irrigation pumps. In the wake of climate change, the President said irrigation was of vital importance as it assists in times of dry spells. He also said there was a need for farmers to strengthen their small farmers clubs into viable cooperatives that can ably acquire business linkages and source markets for their produce. In his speech, the President highly praised CAMCO’s contribution to the development of agriculture. The tractors, planting equipment, and shellers provided by CAMCO have played especially significant roles in improving the agricultural mechanization level in Malawi and the wellbeing of local farmers.

CAMCO (Malawi) Marketing Manager Yang Minghui as the team leader participated in the fair. As the largest and most authoritative agriculture fair in Malawi, there are more than 80 companies and thousands of people attended the fair. CAMCO company stand attracted more than 100 customers. The team introduced the operation and features of agricultural equipment that customers expressed interest in, such as weed cutter, tractor, oil expeller, thresher, solar water pump, etc. Small groups and individual farmers paid high attention to irrigation systems such as solar equipment and gasoline and diesel pumps; farm customers paid high attention to tractor, plough, harrow, and seeding equipment.

Mr. Dalitso Gadi, the HR and Administration Supervisor of CAMCO Malawi was interviewed by the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). He expressed gratitude to the fair that provided a communication platform for customers and companies. He talked about the hardships with rising costs and what CAMCO was doing so that farmers should still be able to buy equipment. He informed customers about CAMCO Malawi’s engagement with banks to fund the purchases for farmers’ cooperatives.
