On July 31, a delegation from Hunan Architectural Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hunan Design") visited Camco Group in Zambia for project inspections and cooperation exchanges along the Lusaka-Kitwe corridor. Mr. Li Tie, Chairman of Camco Group, along with Mr. Xia Xinhong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Hunan Design, Mr. Xu Bing, Member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Mr. Xiao Yi, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager, participated in the activities. The two sides held in-depth discussions on project construction, planning and design, industrial synergy, and future cooperation in Zambia, and signed a cooperation agreement.
The delegation's first stop was the construction site of a Camco Group project, where they inspected the progress and received briefings on construction organization, functional layouts, and on-site management. The two sides exchanged views on design implementation, quality improvement, and key issues in project execution based on the actual conditions of the project.
The delegation then visited the Zambia-Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone to inspect outstanding local design projects and the zone's development achievements. Through site visits, scale-model viewing, and product exhibitions, the delegation gained a detailed understanding of the zone's master plan, industrial layout, architectural spatial organization, and supporting infrastructure, and exchanged views on the integration of overseas industrial park planning, design, and operational development.
At the Kapiri Mposhi terminus of the TAZARA Railway, the delegation inspected the station buildings, traffic organization, and surrounding infrastructure, and learned about the historical background and current operational environment of the TAZARA Railway. The two sides discussed transportation infrastructure renewal, regional node function improvements, and related design requirements.
At the Mwengpe Commercial Farm, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the farm's production operations, facility layout, and construction conditions, with a focus on the practical needs of agricultural projects in planning, architecture, supporting facilities, and industrial integration. This visit further expanded the two sides' understanding of cooperation in the design and construction of commercial agricultural projects.
Following the site inspections, Camco Group and Hunan Architectural Design Institute held a symposium. During the meeting, the two sides presented their respective corporate developments and business layouts in Zambia, and exchanged views on the design of Camco Group's headquarters, project planning, engineering construction, and resource coordination. Participants agreed that Zambia offers vast development opportunities and that the two sides have complementary business strengths. They should establish a regular communication mechanism to translate the inspection outcomes into practical cooperation.
After the symposium, the two sides held a cooperation signing ceremony. This signing marks a significant achievement in deepening mutual trust and leveraging professional strengths, and lays a solid foundation for subsequent project cooperation. Both sides expressed that they will take this inspection and exchange as an opportunity to strengthen coordination in project planning, design, and construction implementation, jointly creating cooperative projects that meet local needs and demonstrate professional quality, and contributing to China-Zambia economic and trade cooperation and livelihood development.
