At 3:00 PM on September 6, 2025, under a clear blue sky, the "Seventy Years of Glory, Continuing the Splendid Chapter - Global Alumni Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Jilin University's Engineering Discipline and the Former Jilin Polytechnical University" was grandly held in Beijing. This celebration was guided by the Jilin University Alumni Association and the East Campus Affairs Office, co-hosted by 23 alumni associations and organizations at home and abroad, including the Beijing Alumni Association Engineering Branch, gathering the attention and best wishes of Jilin University engineering alumni worldwide.
Mr. Li Tie, Chairman of CAMCO Group and alumnus of Jilin University (Class of 1988), was invited to attend the celebration. He joined over 400 guests and fellow alumni at the event. In addition to the on-site attendees, hundreds of thousands of alumni worldwide connected virtually to share this historic moment with their alma mater, relive campus memories, and discuss future development.
The celebration was filled with highlights. Mr. Zhang Guoxing, Vice President of Jilin University, shared his unforgettable experience of witnessing the launch of the "Jilin University" civilian rocket in Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on September 5th. This rocket, adorned with the name and emblem of Jilin University as well as the symbol commemorating the 70th anniversary of the engineering discipline, was a precious gift dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the engineering discipline. Subsequently, Mr. Liu Jianshe, President of Galactic Energy, the company responsible for this launch mission, took the stage to discuss the collaborative achievements of his alma mater and alumni in scientific and technological innovation, vividly illustrating the spirit of Jilin University's engineering students: “Innovation for Strength, Industry for Nation.”
Alumni representatives from various sectors also shared heartfelt ties to their alma mater, while co-organizing alumni associations worldwide sent specially recorded video messages, uniting global engineering alumni in gratitude and celebration of the 70th anniversary of their alma mater. At 4:00 PM, the chorus of "Ode to the Motherland" marked the opening of the evening gala, with alumni from various departments and different generations taking the stage in succession. The gala, structured around the theme of "Foundation - Development - Growth - Advancement", was divided into eight chapters featuring self-written, self-directed, and self-performed programs by alumni, including songs and dances, recitations, stage plays, and fashion shows. Ultimately, the celebration concluded perfectly amidst the powerful chorus of "Me and My Motherland".
