Minister Launches Camco Weichai Spare Parts Center

On 11th March 2022, the launching ceremony of Camco-Weichai Spare Parts Center was held in Lusaka at Camco Zambia premises . with the Guest of Honour being the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development represented by the the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Mr. Danny Mfune. Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary of Transportation and Logistic Dept. Mr. Frederick Mwalusaka, the General Manager of Weichai Power Import & Export Ltd. Mr. Jin Zhao, the General Manager of Weichai Middle East and Africa Mr. Wang Changcong, the Chief Executive Officer of Zambia Rural Electrification Authority Mr. Liunus Chanda, the Chief Executive Officer of Public Service Micro Finance Company Mr. Mubanga Mwiko, the, chairman of Camco Group Mr. Li Tie, management of Camco, representatives of local enterprises and Chinese  enterprises, and media representatives.

Mr. Jin Zhao, General Manager of Weichai Power Import & Export Ltd.,, introduced that Weichai was founded in 1946 and has 100,000 employees worldwide. It is an international company operating across fields and industries. Camco and Weichai are long-term strategic partners. Both parties are committed to the development of southern Africa, especially the Zambia market, to provide local customers with more efficient and clean energy and improve customer satisfaction. The establishment of Camco-Weichai Spare Parts centers improves the strategic cooperation between Camco and Wehcai, Mr Jin said in conclusion.

Mr. Li Tie, the Chairman of Camco Group, thanked Weichai Group for its recognition and support. Mr Li pointed out that the launch of the Weichai Spare Parts Centre barely five months after the Weichai Rebranding Ceremony on 21st October, 2021 signified the seriousness of  Weichai and the importance they attach to the Zambian market. Camco and Weichai jointly have built the Spare Parts Center, aiming to provide African customers with more spare parts and technical support. The spare center is aimed at meeting the needs of customers and promoting the development of Spare parts business.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Mr. Danny Mfune said that the landmark event  underscores the long-term commitment to serving the Zambian Market well.. He said that partnership that was created with Wechai, a global industrial powerhouse will assist Zambia in achieving its industrialization agenda through the supply of critical equipment and machinery to service the energy, mining, agriculture and construction sectors in Zambia. Mr. Mfune encouraged enterprises to provide durable and affordable machinery and equipment for government projects.

Mr. Peng Jiping, General Manager of Camco Motors introduced that Camco Motors is subsidiary company of Camco Group in Automobile sales.  Mr Peng went on to say that the aim of the company is to offer clients  a wide range of affordable and top end specifications for all categories of Industry and Commercial, light and heavy duty, Cargo and Passenger Vehicles. Camco Motors’ focus was on introducing new energy vehicles from China. “Zhongtong Bus, Zambia Service Station in Camco Motors will be soon launched and all the guests here are invited to present that forthcoming event” Mr Peng said in conclusion.

The General Manager of Camco Equipment (Zambia) Ltd. Mr. Pillar Xu, said that the Hire Dept. was established in 2021, mainly dealing with hiring of  agricultural equipment and earthmoving road machinery, and welcomed companies to cooperate with Camco. In 2022, two new showrooms in Lusaka are planned to build to enhance customer shopping experience and provide customers with more efficient and convenient services. In terms of talent training, Camco College was established and cooperated with Zambia Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University, Weichai and Lovol.
