On September 15, Zambia local time, a delegation from South Africa-China Economy and Trade Association (SACEA) visited the Zambia headquarters of Camco Group for an on-site inspection and research visit. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, industrial chain synergy, localized operations, and industry-education integration.
The delegation was led by Gu Ping, President of the South Africa-China Economy and Trade Association (SACEA), and comprised vice presidents, council members, and entrepreneur representatives from various industries, covering sectors such as engineering machinery, automobile trade, investment and trade, building materials manufacturing, and vocational education.
Camco Group attached great importance to this visit. Li Tie, Chairman of the Group, along with the senior management team, hosted the delegation throughout the visit. The delegation successively toured three major business segments—Camco Equipment (Zambia) Ltd.,Camco Motors (Zambia) Ltd.,and Camco College Ltd.(Zambia)—gaining firsthand insight into the Group's development practices over more than two decades of taking root in Africa, upholding the cultural principle of "ROOTED IN VIRTUE, BUILT TO LAST”, and remaining committed to substantive operations and pragmatic management.
The first stop was CAMCO MOTORS (Zambia) LTD., where the delegation toured the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle 4S showrooms and the maintenance service center. Liu Qingcheng, General Manager of the automotive company, provided a detailed introduction to the Group's automotive business layout: the Group has introduced multiple mainstream domestic passenger vehicle, heavy truck, and light truck products, established an integrated service system covering vehicle sales, parts supply, and maintenance, and offers complete mobility solutions to government, corporate, and individual customers, actively seizing opportunities in Africa's new energy vehicle market. The delegation engaged in thorough discussions and exchanges with our team on topics including the African automotive market environment, channel development, after-sales service, and challenges of localized operations.
The delegation then visited CAMCO COLLEGE Ltd. (Zambia), touring training classrooms and student practical training areas. The college adheres to industry-education integration, focuses on cultivating local skilled talent, and provides vocational skills training in machinery maintenance, vehicle servicing, welding, and other areas to the local community and Chinese-funded enterprises in Zambia. It continuously produces localized technical and skilled talent, empowering local employment and industrial upgrading through vocational education, and practicing the Group's value pursuit of giving back to society and creating shared value.
The final stop was CAMCO EQUIPMENT (ZAMBIA) LTD., where the delegation visited the agricultural machinery and engineering equipment showrooms and the after-sales maintenance workshop, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the import, distribution, and supporting service systems for agricultural machinery, mining equipment, and engineering equipment. Based on Zambia's needs for agricultural modernization and infrastructure development, the Group continues to introduce high-quality Chinese mechanical equipment and has established a complete warehousing, parts supply, and maintenance service network, injecting momentum into local industrial development.
Following the on-site visits, the two sides held a symposium and exchange meeting. Chairman Li Tie shared with the delegation the Group's journey of over two decades of development in Africa, its diversified business layout, and its localized management experience. The delegation highly recognized Camco Group's practices in deeply cultivating the local market, actively fulfilling social responsibilities, and advancing industry-education integration. Participating parties exchanged views on supply chain cooperation, market channel sharing, joint talent cultivation, and project information exchange, reaching multiple preliminary cooperation intentions.
Gu Ping, President of the South Africa-China Economy and Trade Association (SACEA), stated that Camco Group, as a benchmark Chinese-funded enterprise in Zambia, has provided valuable practical examples for Chinese enterprises investing in Africa. The Association will leverage its role as a platform and bridge to bring more Chinese enterprises to understand and enter Zambia, build resource matching channels, and promote China-Africa practical cooperation to go deeper and more substantive.
