On January 18 local time, at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony of CCCZ, CAMCO EQUIPMENT (ZAMBIA) LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “CAMCO Zambia”), a subsidiary of Camco Group, was honored with the “China-Zambia Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Award” in recognition of its outstanding contributions to China-Zambia economic and trade cooperation. The award ceremony was held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, attended by over 300 representatives from the political and business communities of China and Zambia, including Crusivia Hichikumba, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, MCTI, and Wang Li, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia.
“This honor is an affirmation of our years of dedicated efforts,” said Xu Jiadong, General Manager of CAMCO Zambia, upon receiving the award. “We will take this award as a new starting point and continue to introduce innovative equipment and services aligned with Zambia’s 《Vision 2030》, injecting momentum into the trade growth between the two countries.”
Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, conveyed his congratulations through the Permanent Secretary, emphasizing that the award “reflects the depth and value of China-Zambia cooperation in energy, agriculture, and other fields.” He also pledged that the government would continue to optimize the business environment to support the development of Chinese enterprises. Counsellor Wang Li of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia acknowledged Camco Group’s role as a “bridge for China-Zambia economic and trade cooperation,” noting that its development practices provide a replicable model for bilateral cooperation.
Li Tie, Chairman of Camco Group and President of CCCZ, stated, “This honor belongs to all Chinese enterprises that uphold the principle of ‘shared development and mutual growth.’” He revealed that the Group would focus on opportunities presented by the AfCFTA to promote the adoption of more Chinese equipment and technology in Zambia and surrounding markets.
This award marks a milestone in Camco Group’s overseas cooperation strategy. CAMCO Zambia will continue to deepen collaboration with local stakeholders, contributing Chinese expertise to areas such as agricultural modernization and infrastructure upgrading, and helping elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Zambia to new heights.
